Module 2 – Creating & Editing
Unit 2.2 – Use a suitable application to enter, edit and format graphics, including position and size.
Task 1 – What Do You Already Know?
Learners reflect on their existing knowledge of image editing and identify different ways graphics can be changed using Microsoft Word’s Picture Format tools.
Task 2 – Picture Formatting Tools
Learners identify and label common tools found within the Picture Format tab, including picture styles, corrections, colour, borders, transparency and background removal.
Task 3 – Identifying Editing Effects
Learners compare edited versions of the same image, identify which formatting tool has been used and explain the purpose of each effect.
Task 4 – Donkey Image Challenge
Learners insert and edit a provided image by applying six formatting instructions, including text wrapping, borders, colour changes, positioning and resizing.
Task 5 – Highland Image Challenge
Learners complete a second practical graphics task using cropping, transparency, artistic effects, picture styles and precise resizing.
Task 6 – Independent Image Editing
Learners select an image and apply six different formatting tools before recording their choices and inviting a peer to recreate the edited result.
Task 7 – Formatting Graphics Recap
Learners complete a 12-question multiple-choice quiz covering image insertion, cropping, text wrapping, rotation, transparency, picture styles and other formatting tools.
